A large number of pilgrims visited the Vaishno Devi shrine on the New Year’s eve on Wednesday. The officials informed that 45,975 visitors were recorded at the shrine that caused heavy rush at the shrine.
Reports suggested that the pilgrimage was also suspended for sometime due to this heavy rush to avoid any tragedy.
On Thursday till 3 pm, at least 34,000 pilgrims had visited the shrine.
