An employee of Power Development Department (PDD) was under treatment after he received an electric shock while he was repairing a transformer in Handwara in Kupwara district.
What has made the incident serious is the fact that power was curtailed when the employee Nazir Ahmad Bhat, also a local resident was repairing the transformer. He reportedly received a high voltage shock after which he was rushed to the hospital.
JEE PDD Mawer Ghulam Mohuiddin said that an investigation has been initiated into the incident as the time when Nazir was repairing the transformer is scheduled break time.
However the employee is stated to be stable and out of danger.
