PDP defers foundation day celebrations in view of loss caused by rains across J&K

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has decided to defer its Foundation Day celebrations, scheduled for 28 July, in view of the prevailing situation caused by incessant rains, which have resulted in the tragic loss of precious lives and widespread damage to property across Jammu & Kashmir, a party announcement said.

At this hour of grief and suffering, the Party stands in solidarity with the people of Jammu & Kashmir, especially the bereaved families in Rajouri and Poonch who have lost their loved ones in the devastating cloudburst incidents. We pray for eternal peace to the departed souls, strength to the bereaved families, and a swift recovery to those injured, PDP said.

The Party President has directed that a fresh date for the Foundation Day programme will be announced in due course.

Meanwhile, all Youth Wing members, party functionaries, and affiliated bodies are instructed to remain vigilant and work on the ground to assist affected people across Jammu & Kashmir. The Party urges its cadre to actively participate in relief efforts and extend every possible support to those facing hardship during these challenging times, the announcement said.
