Srinagar police urged the vehicle owners in Jammu and Kashmir to install high-security number plates (HSNPs) on both ends of their vehicle as mandated in the Motor Vehicles Act in view of probe into their use by terrorists.
In light of investigations into usage of vehicles for transport by terrorists, all owners are requested to install HSNP on both front and rear of vehicles (in all the two wheelers also) as mandated by MV act. Non-compliance will lead to legal action including seizure of vehicle.
Police further said “Non-compliance will lead to legal action incl seizure of vehicle. All persons selling,renting or providing vehicles (two wheelers incl) are also requested to verify credentials of such buyer/user from nearest police stn before handing over vehicle.
