Police cracks-down on modified vehicles in Jammu, 19 seized

In a concerted effort to enforce traffic discipline and curb violations under the Motor Vehicles Act, Jammu Police, South Zone conducted a special drive named operation Off-Road across the zone on the directions of senior officers. The drive was carried out by SP City South, SDPO East, SDPO South, all SHOs and ICPPs of South Zone across various strategic points.

As part of this operation, multiple Nakas were established at vulnerable and high-traffic locations in the jurisdiction of Police Stations and Police Posts of South Zone. During the intensive checking and enforcement activity, 19 vehicles were seized and 48 challans were issued under various provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act.

This crackdown was launched in response to the increasing trend of Motor Vehicle Act violations, which pose a serious risk to public safety and often lead to avoidable road accidents. The operation aimed not only at enforcing legal compliance but also to instill a sense of responsibility among motorists regarding road safety norms.

Senior officers reiterated that such special drives will be conducted on a regular basis, and strict action will be taken against habitual offenders. Citizens are urged to carry all valid documents, wear helmets and seatbelts, avoid rash driving, and ensure that their vehicles are properly registered and insured.

Jammu Police remains committed to ensuring the safety of all road users and appeals to the general public to cooperate with police teams in maintaining discipline on roads. The enforcement drives will continue in the coming days with increased intensity, and no leniency will be shown towards violators endangering their lives and that of others.
