Progress on National Highway- 444 in Kashmir reviewed; Trees coming in alignment

The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din-Bhat today chaired a meeting regarding utility shifting of Power Transmission, telecommunication, evaluation of structures and trees coming in the alignment of NH-444 Kulgam Bypass.

The meeting was attended by ADC Kulgam and others concerned.

The meeting deliberated over the responsibility of utility shifting and assessment of structures on the Bypass road.

The utilities of Irrigation and Flood Control, PHE and PWD, PDD which needs to be shifted due to  Bypass  road were discussed.

On the Occasion, DC directed concerned officers to complete the assessment process before 03 April .

 He also impressed upon the officials that the process under Section 3G of  The National Highways Act, 1956  shall be expedited .

During the meeting it was informed that a total road length of 8.75 Km’s covering land area of 21.19  Hectares of 02 tehsils  are coming under the alignment of NH-444 Kulgam Bypass.

The issue of Brazulu Bridge was also discussed during the meeting and it was informed that a new Bridge will be constructed under NH-444 with an estimated cost of 35 crore which will provide smooth movement of traffic.
