The Lieutenant Governor highlighted how the courage and selfless commitment demonstrated by these gallant heroes continues to serve as an inspiration for future generations.The tragic incident, which occurred on February 14, 2019, claimed the lives of 40 brave Indian soldiers when terrorists carried out an IED attack in Awantipora, Pulwama. The attack, one of the deadliest in recent history, sent shockwaves across the nation and led to heightened tensions in the region.
The annual commemoration of this day serves as a reminder of the ongoing sacrifices made by security forces in protecting the nation’s sovereignty and the continuing fight against terrorism.
