Rains in J&K brings relief from high temperature, wet weather likely for 24 hours

Jammu and Kashmir received light scattered rains on Wednesday bringing some relief to the region after the scorching heat. Weather department predicted light to moderate rains in J&K during next twenty four hours.

An official of MeT department said that widespread light/moderate rain is likely to occur in J&K during the next 24 hours. The weather office said that a spell of light to moderate rainfall and thunderstorm is also expected at many places of Jammu region.

The day started with cloudy weather followed by mild rains in many parts of the Valley.

Srinagar recorded 9.6 degrees Celsius, Pahalgam 3.6 and Gulmarg 2.5 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature.

Drass in Ladakh recorded 1.2 degree; Leh recorded 5.6 and Kargil 5.0 as the night’s lowest temperature. Jammu recorded 23.4 degrees, Katra 20.8, Batote 14.1, Banihal 13.2 and Bhaderwah 8.4 as the minimum temperature.
