Ravneet Bittu visits India’s first cable-stayed rail bridge in Reasi

Reasi 19 November :- Ravneet Singh Bittu, Minister of State for Railways, visited Reasi to inspect the ongoing work on the Katra-Reasi rail section. During a media interaction, Singh highlighted the significant progress of the railway project, expressing optimism about connecting Kashmir through rail connectivity.
While he could not provide an exact completion date, Singh indicated that the project is on track to potentially launch train services to Kashmir by January 2025. He emphasized the strategic importance of the rail link, noting that it would provide critical transportation infrastructure, especially during challenging weather conditions when national highways often become inaccessible.
The minister underscored that the rail project would significantly boost tourism and business opportunities in the Kashmir valley.

He described the upcoming rail connectivity as a “big gift” to the people of Kashmir, crediting the NDA government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for driving the project’s momentum. Singh pointed out that the project has gained substantial traction in the last eight years, after remaining stalled previously.
Acknowledging the hard work of officers and workers involved in the project, Singh expressed deep appreciation for their efforts in developing this critical transportation infrastructure that promises to transform connectivity in the region
