In a major setback to those planning Amarnath Yatra registration 2020, the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB) has postponed the procedure to April 15 due to the national lockdown.
Every year lakhs of people from across the world visit the Amarnath shrine cave located in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir.
While the process to register for 42 day long pilgrimage was scheduled to start from April 1 but due to the national lockdown owing to Coronavirus, the SASB has deferred the registration date to April 15.
This year’s Shri Amarnath Yatra will commence on June 23, via both the routes of Baltal and Pahalgam, and conclude on August 3. According to an earlier order by the shrine board, “Registration for the period June 23 to July 4, shall be allowed in online mode only from April 2, 2020 (through the websites http://www.shriamarnathjishrine.com and http://jksasb.nic.in).
