Relief for Jammu and Kashmir: Shops to open in Orange zone of Udhampur

In Lockdown 3.0, the central government had given permission to open shops of essential and non-essential goods with certain conditions in all zones, however many states did not implement it immediately. 

However, now the Jammu and Kashmir government has given permission to open standalone (single) shops in Udhampur district that is included in the list of Orange Zone.

The shops have been allowed to open from 8 am to 1 pm. However, according to the guidelines issued, these shops will open only on a particular days. That is, the shops of Orange Zone can be opened according to the roster. This information was given by Deputy Commissioner of Udhampur Piyush Singla.

Udhampur district was also included in the list of red zone initially. Later in the list released, Udhampur was included in the Orange Zone. In the list, 12 districts were kept in the Orange Zone. These include Baramulla, Kupwara, Ganderbal, Jammu, Udhampur, Kulgam, Budgam, Samba, Kathua, Rajouri, Ramban and Reasi.

Apart from this, the four districts which have been included in Corona Free i.e. Green Zone include Pulwama from Kashmir division and Kishtwar, Doda and Poonch in Jammu division.

Permission for sale of essential and non-essential items to all single shops,neighborhood or colony shops and shops in residential complexes in the Red Zone, Orange Zone and Green Zone of urban areas, as per the order issued on 1 May 2020 from the Union Home Ministry It was given, but shops located in the markets were allowed to sell only essential items.
