Amid the rising cases of Covid-19 in the country a group of ex-servicemen of the Indian Army has come forward to spread awareness among the people about the pandemic in Udhampur district of of Jammu division.
Retired serviceman, Naib Subedar Sohan Singh said that they have made a group of ex-servicemen of the army and are planning visits door to door to make people aware about the pandemic in various areas of Udhampur. In addition he said that they are also informing how they can identify symptoms of deadly virus and helping them to give medical assistance.
Another former serviceman, Dr. Pankaj Dogra said that the team is helping health authorities in identifying people with symptoms and spreading awareness among them.
Adding he said, “it is the need of the hour. We are prioritizing on saving as many lives as possible.”
Subedar Major Fardool Singh said that several of them, are going door to door in various areas and are making people aware of the disease and what they can do when they develop symptoms.
The group of former army men are also checking the oxygen level and pulse rate of people and noting down the readings who show Covid-19 symptoms and are advised to get themselves tested. They also informed people that they will keep a check by visiting on regular terms.
