It seems that promotion of tourist spots of Jammu region for the government of J&K is only on papers as the infrastructure and road connectivity to these areas speak volumes of government apathy.
One such tourist spot is Sanasar that is nearly 20 Km from Patnitop and is known for its meadows and greenery. However let alone developing the spot, the administration of J&K has not even bothered to develop a proper road to Sanasar due to which many tourists return mid-way.
A large number of local as well as tourists from Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh visit Sanasar during the summer season due to the pleasant atmosphere in the area.
Government of J&K had always been accused of discriminating against Jammu region but a sense of security among people had come when the contentious Article 370 was abrogated and the state made a UT to end the vicious circle of corruption.
As soon as Lt Governor Manoj Sinha took over the reins of the UT, people in Jammu heaved a sigh of relief as he promised a balanced administration in both the divisions – Kashmir and Jammu.
However it has been learnt that while Manoj Sinha is serious in his plans of developing the state and making it a hub of tourism, officials in the administration are sabotaging his plans by favoring particular region in fruits of development.
There is a growing discontentment among the people of Jammu over various issues where they feel that the change of status of J&K has not benefited them.
