Srinagar :- Sajad Lone, MLA Handwara and President of the J&K Peoples Conference (PC), called the National Conference (NC) the BJP’s “A-team” and accused it of supporting the BJP’s agenda.
In a harsh criticism, he claimed that by not introducing a clear and forceful resolution against the repeal of Article 370 and Article 35A, the NC had failed the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
“You can’t be that gullible. It was solely for political purposes that the Prime Minister and the Home Minister discussed the resolution so much. Not as firmly as it ought to have been, it was used as a stick against the Congress, according to Lone.
He emphasized that only the BJP and the NC believed the resolution called for the reinstatement of Articles 370 and 35A. He continued by saying, “Others probably couldn’t understand it due to poor command of English.”
“The pre-election ferocity about Article 370 during the campaign has now turned into a tame surrender, one that normalizes and endorses August 5, 2019,” Lone added, criticizing the quiet on the repeal of Article 370. The first elected Assembly after 2019 seems to have approved of such events based on this silence. What is treachery if this isn’t it?
He further emphasized that NC’s failure to defend J&K is reflected in the absence of a clear resolution denouncing August 5, 2019, and calling for the reinstatement of articles 370 and 35A.
Furthermore, Lone warned that this matter will plague the Assembly for the duration of its existence and cited the “People’s Resolution,” which was put out by a faction of the opposition, as the true voice of dissent.
