Ahead of the forthcoming Independence Day celebrations, Samba Police conducted a Long-Range Patrolling (LRP) and a mock anti-terror drill in the border area of Samba district to assess operational preparedness, strengthen security arrangements and ensure a prompt response to any contingency.

The Long-Range Patrolling was conducted by SOG Samba along NHW-44 from Jatwal to Lala Chak and was headed by the Addl. SP Samba.

Following the LRP, a mock drill was conducted at BPP Lala Chak on the border road to assess the preparedness of the participating personnel in dealing with a simulated terror-related situation. During the exercise, two simulated terrorists were shown carrying out an attack on the establishment. Acting swiftly on the simulated threat, the SOG personnel established a proper cordon around the area and successfully neutralized both simulated terrorists.

The exercise was aimed at testing the response mechanism, coordination, tactical preparedness and contingency-handling capabilities of the participating personnel of SOG Samba and BPP Lala Chak.

SSP Samba reiterated the commitment of Samba Police in maintaining a robust security arrangement and ensuring the safety and security of the public, particularly in view of the upcoming Independence Day celebrations and ongoing SANJY-2026.
