Security agencies finding important sites in J&K to install anti-drone system

After the drone attack on June 27 on the Indian Air Force (IAF) base in Jammu, security agencies are on high alert.

For installing the anti-drone technology developed by the Defence and Research Development Organization (DRDO) the security agencies are finding the strategically important sites within the distance of 15 to 20 kilometers from the Line of Control (LoC) and International Border (IB).

As per reports, demonstration of anti-drone technology has been given to top Army Commanders by DRDO and it seems to hit the approaching drones nearly three to four kilometers away from the target successfully.

Within 15 to 20 kilometers from the LoC and International Border there are many military installations in Jammu and Kashmir. In the initial stage security agencies might go for installation of new equipment if they get approved by the Military Commanders in very limited manner.

Thus, the security agencies are looking forward for identification of strategically important installations which will require anti-drone technology immediately.

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha recently said that the country was in advanced stage of developing technology to counter drone attacks. He had stated that all security installations in Jammu and Kashmir are fully safe.

It is pertinent to mention that after the drone attack on IAF station in Jammu drones were spotted over military installations at Kaluchak, Ratnuchak and Kunjwani for the following three days. After that no movement of drones was seen.
