Kulgam:
Continuing its sustained efforts to uproot the terror ecosystem from the grassroots level, Police in Kulgam today launched a massive crackdown across multiple locations in the district. The operation targeted OGWs, UAPA and PSA accused persons, sympathisers, and relatives of killed and active terrorists particularly in areas where encounters had earlier taken place.
During the operation, several suspects were detained for questioning, and multiple houses were searched. The action forms part of J&K Police’s Zero-Tolerance Policy towards terrorism and its support network.
It is pertinent to mention that earlier, Police had initiated strong action against J&K Nationals Operating from Pak/PoK (JKNOPs) and SIM card vendors facilitating terror communication channels.
J&K Police reaffirms its commitment to dismantling every layer of the terror support structure and ensuring lasting peace, security, and stability in the district.
Ganderbal:
In its sustained efforts to uproot the remnants of terrorism and dismantle its ecosystem, Police in Ganderbal alongwith CAPF’s continues carrying out extensive Search Operations at 30 different locations across the district.
The searches were conducted in the residential houses of Surrendered and Ex-militants, as part of a comprehensive strategy to identify and neutralize elements and networks providing support to subversive activities. These coordinated operations were aimed at tightening the noose around anti-national elements and preventing any attempts to revive terror activities in the region. During the raids, a significant number of digital devices and other incriminating materials were seized for further analysis.
This operation reflects the firm resolve of J&K Police to maintain peace and ensure that no individual or group is allowed to disturb the prevailing harmony in the district.
Sopore:
In continuation of the massive crackdown launched by Police in Sopore against (OGWs) and terror associates, search operations were carried out for the second consecutive day across multiple areas of the Police District.
Searches were conducted at over 30 locations linked with JKNOP, other terrorist handlers, and their associates, based on credible intelligence inputs. The coordinated operations aimed to disrupt local networks providing logistical, financial, or ideological support to terrorism.
During the ongoing operations, many OGWs and suspected associates were detained for questioning to ascertain their connections and roles in aiding cross-border handlers. Several incriminating materials and digital devices were also seized for forensic examination.
The Cordon and Search Operations (CASOs) were conducted simultaneously across sensitive areas with the objective of dismantling the terror support network and preventing any subversive activities in the area.
Handwara:
Acting on credible intelligence inputs, Police—assisted by other security agencies—conducted coordinated cordon and search operations (CASOs) at various locations suspected to be used by OGWs and JKNOPs for sheltering and aiding terrorist elements. The operation was aimed at disrupting the terror support infrastructure, which includes networks involved in providing logistical, financial, and ideological assistance to active terrorists and their cross-border handlers.
During the extensive operations, several suspects and OGWs were detained for questioning to ascertain their involvement in unlawful activities. Incriminating materials, including mobile phones, digital storage devices, and other documents, were recovered from multiple premises and subsequently seized for detailed forensic and technical analysis.
The operations were executed in a well-coordinated manner across different police jurisdictions of the district, focusing on sensitive pockets where the terror ecosystem has previously attempted to establish ground-level influence.
Baramulla:
Police in Baramulla carried out numerous and varied operations across the district aimed at shoring up preventive measures against anti-national and law-violating elements while enhancing overall community safety.
During the course of operations, 1. 25 properties linked with PoK/ Pakistan based Kashmiri natives were searched. From these 25 locations, 19 persons were bound down under preventive provisions of law. 22 properties associated with OGWs were searched. 17 OGWs were bound down and 3 were sent to jail under preventive detention. Further, 6 properties associated with persons booked under UAPA (presently on bail) were searched besides, 3 OGWs were bound down, and 2 were detained under preventive law. Moreover, 73 SIM vendors were checked across the district to ensure proper subscriber verification in line with prescribed norms. 208 vehicles were thoroughly checked at various checkpoints established along the National Highway and other key routes, and 14 CASOs were simultaneously conducted.
These actions were executed in a well-coordinated manner across the district and ensuring that no individual or group is able to disturb peace and order in the district.
Pulwama:
In continuation of its ongoing campaign to dismantle terror support structures, Police in Pulwama today carried out another series of coordinated raids across multiple locations in the district.
Acting on credible intelligence inputs, Police conducted searches targeting individuals associated with Jammu & Kashmir Nationals operating from Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (JKNOP), Over Ground Workers (OGWs), and UAPA-accused persons currently on bail, suspected of providing logistical or communication support to terrorist handlers. The operations were conducted across several locations in a transparent and lawful manner. Family members were present during the searches, and necessary legal formalities were observed throughout.
During the continued crackdown, several persons were questioned and relevant materials were seized for verification. The exercise also helped develop useful leads for further investigation. These sustained operations are part of an ongoing strategy to disrupt the local terror support ecosystem and prevent any subversive activities in the district.
Awantipora:
Continuing its efforts to maintain peace and strengthen security measures, police in Awantipora, in a joint operation with security forces, launched cordon and search operations (CASO) at various suspected locations across the police district to dismantle terror ecosystem.
The operation was carried out in a well-coordinated manner under the supervision of SSP Awantipora. The primary objective of the operation was to track down terror associates, elements linked with J&K-based (JKNOPs) networks, and UAPA accused persons, besides verifying suspicious movements to ensure peace and public safety.
During the searches, identity verification of several individuals was conducted, and suspicious premises were thoroughly checked.
