Jammu and Kashmir Housing Board has declared several persons including many VIPs as encroachers of government roads in Gandhi Nagar area of Jammu.
In an advertisement, JK Housing Board stated that many deputations have in the recent past highlighted the issue of traffic congestion being caused due to encroachments on roads made by owners in housing colony, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu by fencing part of the road with barbed mesh and planting trees in the enclosure.
It further stated that some of the allottees have also installed heavy diesel generator sets on the roads which are causing annoyance to the residents of the colony.
It has been learnt that many businessmen and some influential government officials have also encroached upon the roads by constructing an extension and planted flowers and trees in the enclosure.
