Sharda Sinha, a known singer of Bollywood is on ventilator since last evening and the family has asked the fans to pray for the veteran folk artist.
The 72 year old Padma Bhushan Awardee has been admitted to AIIMS in New Delhi after her condition became critical. Her son Anshuman Sinha is at the hospital with his mother.
Sharda Sinha is suffering from myeloma cancer. She was diagnosed seven years ago after which she was under continuous treatment due to the disease’s affect on the bone marrow.
Sharda was born in Bihar in 1952 and is known for her songs specifically in Bhojpuri language. Her songs on Chhat puja are popular in Bihar region and are appreciated by people there.
Sharda came to the limelight from her son in a superhit Bollywood movie Hum Apke Hain Kaun. She sang ‘Babul Jo Tum Ne Sikhaya’. The song was appreciated by people across the country.
