Special teams formed in Leh to stop the spread of Covid

In the wake of rising Covid cases in Union Territory of Ladakh, the Deputy Commissioner of Leh Shrikant Balasaheb Suse has ordered formation of COVID-19 Special Enforcement Squads (SESs) with immediate effect.

As per an order, the SES have been formed to ensure Covid appropriate behaviour among people in Leh. “Each member of the COVID-19 SESs are hereby authorized to impose and collect fines from the violators of COVID-19 SOPs/Guidelines issued by the MHA, MOHFW, G.O.I, Administration of UT of Ladakh from time to time to contain the spread of the virus” an order stated.

SESs will also ensure submission of a detailed report to the Deputy Commissioner Leh on daily basis at through the COVID Control Room already established in the premises of DC office Leh (Phone No. 01982-257416).
