Spice Jet to operate cargo flight to Ladakh from November

In order to discuss measures aimed to provide cargo facilities during winter months in the UT Ladakh and other related issues, Commissioner Secretary Civil Aviation, UT Ladakh Rigzian Sampheal convened a meeting of the officers and the concerned Airlines Agencies operating in UT of Ladakh on Wednesday. 

Administrative Secretary, Cooperatives Ravinder Kumar, Leh based Station Managers of all the air operators; representative of Divisional Commissioner Ladakh attended the meeting. Besides, the Senior General Manager Cargo, Spice Jet Pvt. Limited, Delhi also attended the meeting through video conferencing.

During the course of the meeting, threadbare discussion and deliberation were held on various necessary measures which need to be initiated to provide Cargo facilities during winter months.

The Spice Jet Sr. General Manager, Delhi informed that Spice Jet is operating a special Cargo flight (Freighter) for the first time in Ladakh starting from the first week of November, 2020 and the rates and other details have already been shared with the Department of Civil Aviation, UT Ladakh.

The Commissioner/ Secretary asked the GM Spice Jet to provide a detailed quote / slab of rates and such other details so that the Department of Civil Aviation in coordination with the Department of Cooperatives will take action.

Other Airline Agencies operating in Leh were also asked to immediately submit their quotes respectively.
