SSP Kishtwar hold meeting with bankers to combat cyber crime, financial frauds

In a proactive step to bolster coordination against financial frauds and the rising threat of cyber crimes, SSP Kishtwar Naresh Singh held a crucial meeting today with all branch managers of banks operating in District Kishtwar.

During the deliberations, SSP Kishtwar stressed the importance of vigilant monitoring of suspicious and unusual transactions by bank officials. Branch managers were directed to share such information promptly with District Police Kishtwar for swift preventive and legal measures.

SSP Kishtwar commended the exemplary cooperation from bank branches with the Cyber Police Station Kishtwar, noting how their timely information have been instrumental in detecting and investigating cyber fraud cases.

Underscoring the escalating dangers of cyber crimes, the SSP urged bank managers to spearhead public awareness drives, particularly targeting vulnerable senior citizens. Banks were advised to educate customers on prevalent cyber fraud tactics, secure banking protocols, and the critical need to safeguard personal and financial details.

The meeting was attended by Addl. SP Kishtwar Pardeep Singh, Dy. SP Hqrs Kishtwar Dr. Ishan Gupta, IC Cyber Police Station Kishtwar Insp. Imtiyaz Ahmed, PSI Moin Khan, and other officers and officials of Cyber Police Station Kishtwar.

The meeting also provided a platform for bank managers to voice their views, concerns, and suggestions, with assurances from the police that sustained collaboration with the banking sector would prioritize public safety and security.
