Tablighi Jamaat meet in Delhi: Three in Udhampur test COVID-19 positive

Tablighi Jamaat meet in Delhi has long lasting impact on jammu and Kashmir as the three Coronavirus positive cases in Udhampur reported today were in contact with a Jamaat member. A total of 17 cases were reported in J&K in a single day on Saturday.

Authorities declared on Saturday that three more cases of Coronavirus were reported in Narsoo of Udhampur district in Jammu region. All those who found positive were in contact of a person who had travel history abroad. After the report, national highway was also sealed to know and scrutinize the contacts of those found positive.

It has been reliably learnt that the three were in contact with a member of Tablighi Jamaat.

Meanwhile a total of 17 people from across the state were found to be COVID-19 positive. These include four from Bandipura, three from Baramulla, one from Pulwama and three from Udhampur. The total number of Coronavirus cases in Jammu and Kashmir has now reached 92.

Tablighi Jamaat meet in Delhi has been criticized on national level and it has caused much problems for those trying to curb the cases of COVID-19.

18 persons sent home after completion of quarantine in Kulgam

18 persons including students, who were quarantined at GNM College, Kulgam and Baitul Hilal, Kulgam were sent  home today.These persons including 11 boys and 7 Girls, enrolled in various colleges abroad, were quarantined after their arrival.

During last 14 days 7 girls were quarantined at GNM College while boys were kept at Biatul Hilal quarantine center.The district authorities arranged vehicles for these persons, to ferry them to their respective villages, after completion of quarantine period.The authorities appreciated the quarantines persons for exhibiting positive attitude during this period while the students and the persons appreciated the efforts of the district administration for making their quarantine comfortable.

Meeting of the Jamaat in Delhi has resulted in opening a lid of Coronavirus cases in Jammu and Kashmir. Several people have been found to be infected who came in contact with those who attended the meet in Delhi. The authorities are now trying to trace all those who attended the meet and are now present in J&K.
