Targeted killing puts security forces on toes in Kashmir

crime cases

A recent targeted killing of a labourer from Bihar in Kashmir Valley has put the security forces on toes as this is the first such incident after government formation in J&K.

However it is to be noted that the security, law and order are not a subject of the J&K government as of now and are being overseen by the Lt Governor of the UT and by centre directly.

The recent incident involving killing of a Bihari labourer has also raised questions as a spate of similar incidents had taken place in 2022 when many non-Kashmiri workers were killed in Kashmir by terrorists.

A Territorial Army (TA) soldier was abducted by terrorists and his body was found in Anantnag district a week ago. The TA soldier has been identified as Hilal Ahmad Bhat who whose bullet riddled body was found after his abduction.
