Top political leaders expected to take part in Omar Abdullah’s oath ceremony

Oath ceremony of Vice President of National Conference Omar Abdullah is going to be a grand affair in Kashmir. Omar will be sworn in as the Chief Minister of J&K by the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha on October 16 (Wednesday).

Top politicians are expected to take part in the function which will be held at SKICC Srinagar at 11.30 am. Some senior journalists from New Delhi have also been invited.

Among those who are likely to come to the ceremony include Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, Leader of Opposition (LoP) and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, childhood friend and former Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab Sukhbir Badal.

Invitation cards have already been sent to the political leaders across the country who are expected to take part in the ceremony. Tight security arrangements have been made in Srinagar as there will be a heavy movement of VIPs in the city throughout the day on Wednesday.

A council of Ministers will also take oath along with Omar Abdullah. This will be after 10 years that a CM will take oath in Jammu and Kashmir.

Who will be the ministers in J&K

There will be only 10 ministers in J&K as per the norms. The independents including Satish Sharma, Pyare Lal Sharma, Dr Romeshwar Singh,  Muzaffar Khan and Choudhary Mohammad Akram are all in the race of becoming ministers in Omar Abdullah’s cabinet.

Meanwhile senior NC leaders are also expecting a cabinet berth in the government which will become a major issue for Omar.
