The Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, R K Mathur was called upon by various delegations at Raj Niwas today.
Thinles Dorjay, Gen. Secretary, All Ladakh Transport Association (ALTA), Leh made a submission to the Lt. Governor to consider issues of Ladakh transport community including extension of commercial vehicle permit to 25 years subject to fitness rules of Motor Vehicle Act, vehicle vintage issue with defence, issue of non-renewal of documents post bifurcation with Jammu & Kashmir, etc.
A delegation led by Tashi Namgyal, Director, Flowering Dharma Trust (Youth Organisation) in a representation requested the Lt. Governor to recommend the full exemption case for NGO/ State sponsored schemes under Ministry of Culture & Tourism for Hill Union Territories as per Niti Ayog guidelines.
This will also enable them to establish a Tagore Cultural Centre in Chuchot. He also requested to consider implementation of Social, Emotional and Ethical Learning as a part of school curriculum in Ladakh as per the guidelines of National Education Policy, 2019.
Nurboo Gyalson, Ex- MLC also called upon the Lt. Governor to discuss certain issues.
The Lt. Governor heard their issues and said that the issues shall be examined for appropriate decisions.
