Loud explosions were heard inside Air Force Station Jammu at around 1.45 am on Sunday that were heard in several parts of the city.
The blasts occurred at a gap of nearly five minutes with the first one being more intense than the second one coming from inside the Airport Jammu.
Highly placed intelligence sources have said that it is suspected that drones fitted with IED might have been used for blasts. The drones could have been used with the help of GPS, however investigation is still on, said sources.
Bomb disposal squad and forensic teams were rushed to the airport area early on Sunday morning to ascertain the cause of the blasts inside the airport.
As per reports, the explosions occurred inside a building in Jammu airport and ripped off the roof and the second one was on the ground.
Security forces immediately came into action and sealed the area so that any suspicious movement could be traced.
In a statement, the airport authorities said, “There were reports of an explosion inside Air Force Station Jammu. There is no injury to any personnel or any damage to any equipment. Investigation is on.”
