Jammu :- Two narcotics smugglers were apprehended and 5.5 kilograms of heroin, valued at crores of rupees, were seized near the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district on Monday.
This significant drug bust, conducted jointly by the Army and police in the Nowshera sector, foiled an attempt to smuggle the contraband from across the border. The arrested individuals, identified as Sajan Kumar (25) and Subash Chander (36), were apprehended in the forward villages of Sher and Kaneti late on Sunday.
In a separate incident, the Border Security Force (BSF) intercepted a Pakistani drone carrying nearly half a kilogram of high-grade narcotics along the international border in the Arnia sector of Jammu on Saturday. These recent seizures highlight the increasing threat of drug trafficking along India’s borders and the concerted efforts of security forces to counter this menace.
