Vaishno Devi Sangharsh Samiti issues warning of ‘Chakka Jam’ in Jammu

The Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Sangharsh Samiti will hold protest demonstration against the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board on January 6 in front of the Secretariat in Jammu.

This protest will be followed by a demonstration by the women’s wing on January 8, and the participation of veterans from the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Police on January 10. He issued a stern warning to the administration that if a decision in the public interest is not taken soon, a “Chakka Jam” will be organized at every district headquarters, eventually leading to a call for a complete Jammu Bandh.

In a press statement, Colonel Sukhvir Singh Mankotia, Convener of the Samiti also said that opposition leader Sunil Sharma is expected to visit the Sangharsh Samiti office to present the BJP’s perspective.

Mankotia addressed a press conference at Gita Bhawan, where he welcomed the surprise inspection conducted by the National Medical Council (NMC) team at the Medical College. Describing it as a major victory for the Sangharsh Samiti, he stated that the entire ‘Sanatan’ society is grateful to the Union Health Ministry and Health Minister J.P. Nadda for accepting the Samiti’s request and promptly sending a team to inspect the infrastructure.

Colonel Mankotia clarified that while this inspection is a positive step, the Samiti’s phased agitation will proceed according to its strategy until all demands are fully accepted.

The Sangharsh Samiti was formed after majority of the 50 MBBS seats were allocated to the Non-Hindu students at the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Institute of Medical Excellence (SMVDIME).
