The weather forecast for the next 24 hours predicts mainly dry weather conditions, with the possibility of light rain and thunderstorms occurring at scattered places in Jammu and Kashmir from June 13 to 17.
During this period, the weather is expected to be partly to generally cloudy. The meteorological expert mentioned that there is a likelihood of light rain and thunderstorms at scattered locations in Jammu and Kashmir. Additionally, he stated that some areas in the Jammu region may experience moderate to heavy thundershowers on June 14th and 15th, with a 60% chance of occurrence.
Regarding the temperature, the city of Srinagar recorded a low of 14.6°C, slightly higher than the previous night’s temperature of 16.6°C. This temperature reading was 0.3°C above the normal range for the summer capital.
Qazigund, located in the gateway town of Kashmir, registered a low temperature of 11.6°C, lower than the previous night’s temperature of 14.8°C. This temperature was 1.3°C below the normal range for the area.
Pahalgam, a famous tourist resort in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, experienced a low temperature of 7.2°C, compared to the previous night’s 10.3°C. This reading was 1.0°C below the normal range for Pahalgam.
In Kupwara town, the mercury settled at 13.7°C, lower than the previous night’s temperature of 16.0°C. However, it was 1.1°C above the normal range for the north Kashmir area.
Kokernag had a low temperature of 12.4°C, down from the previous night’s reading of 14.6°C. This temperature was 0.3°C above the normal range for the area.
Gulmarg, the renowned skiing resort in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, recorded a low temperature of 10.0°C, slightly lower than the previous night’s 11.0°C. However, it remained 1.2°C above the normal range for Gulmarg.
Moving to Jammu, the city registered a low temperature of 25.3°C, compared to 24.1°C on the previous night. This temperature reading was 0.4°C below the normal range for Jammu, which serves as the winter capital of Jammu and Kashmir.
Other regions in Jammu and Kashmir also experienced variations in temperatures. Banihal had a low temperature of 12.1°C, Batote recorded 14.7°C, Katra had 20.5°C, and Bhaderwah recorded 10.5°C. These temperatures were below normal by 0.4°C, 1.2°C, 1.6°C, and 3.0°C, respectively. In Ladakh, Leh and Kargil had a low temperature of 6.0°C.
