With brief spell of rain, Jammu and Kashmir to witness high temperature

The meteorological department official in Jammu and Kashmir have stated that the night temperatures in various parts of the Union territory were below normal, despite a slight increase in temperature on the previous night. Here are the recorded temperatures and their deviations from normal:

  • Srinagar: The low temperature was 11.3°C (2.1°C below normal).
  • Qazigund: The low temperature was 9.8°C (2.2°C below normal).
  • Pahalgam: The low temperature was 4.6°C (2.4°C below normal).
  • Kupwara: The low temperature was 9.0°C (2.7°C below normal).
  • Kokernag: The low temperature was 10.0°C (2.2°C below normal).
  • Gulmarg: The low temperature was 7.2°C (1.5°C below normal).
  • Jammu: The low temperature was 22.5°C (3.2°C below normal).
  • Banihal: The low temperature was 10.6°C (2.7°C below normal).
  • Batote: The low temperature was 13.3°C (2.1°C below normal).
  • Katra: The low temperature was 20.1°C (2.0°C below normal).
  • Bhaderwah: The low temperature was 9.7°C (2.9°C below normal).
  • Leh: The low temperature was 3.0°C.
  • Kargil: The low temperature was 7.7°C.

The meteorological official also mentioned that from June 5-12, mainly dry weather is expected in the region, but there might be a brief spell of showers and thunderstorms, mainly in the evening. They also anticipated a gradual increase in temperature, indicating that warmer days are ahead.
