Know about these self made women entrepreneurs of Jammu

Preparing the youth to be self employable and job-ready is the essence of the time. The spirit of entrepreneurship is burning fast in youngsters these days. It is really heartwarming to see young talents making the best out of their skills and earning more than the basic pocket money. No professional training, its pure talent which makes these stories worth a look.

PALAK JAIN, 23

Started as a hobby and now became a dream business. Palak Jain started making craftwork during her graduation as something to keep going in pastime. Gradually as she got a tremendous response she began to expand her work. She deals with a huge range of handicrafts, gift items, trousseau packing, quilted serving trays, bouquets, 3D greetings, engagement and wedding platters customized albums, wall clocks and recently she started with home-made chocolates. Done with her post-graduation she is now completely ready to this to the next level. She has this message for beginners, “Having the right knowledge and an imaginative mind keep going with your passion. And in confusion youtube is there to train you every skill required.”

KOUR DEEPLASHA, 21

A B.Tech electrical student out of this dead phase of lockdown in July 2020 thought of utilizing her time and mind for something good. With the name of Suntree chocolates, she serves people with home-made chocolates in 17 different flavors and customized chocolate boxes as per the occasion and customer demand. At this time when everybody is avoiding market food, she came with this idea hygienic and safe way to satisfy your hunger for chocolates. “In Jammu, it was very hard to find the required material so I did the whole research and ordered raw material from Delhi and Jalandhar. Everything I do is from kitchen keeping it a low investment thing”, says Deeplasha.

SHREYA VERMA, 22

The duo of girl and fashion always work. Shreya, a law student of Jammu University pulled this off very well. Having a direct partnership with dealers she sells almost everything from a girl’s wardrobe such as clothes, handbags, jewelry, footwear, nightwear and much more than this. “Managing studies with work becomes a challenge but the satisfaction of being independent eases the pressure”, Shreya while said interacting with us. Taking orders from her social media pages and then delivering it to customers is her small step to rise.

PRIYANSHI JAIN, 23

Two years back Jammu got an amazing product and graphic designer who works from home. Priyanshi started freelancing in 2018 while pursuing Fashion and lifestyle accessory design from NIFT. She deals with furniture design, tabletop accessories, customized covers, book covers, book holders, invitation cards, catalog, business cards, etc. “The digital service I provide definitely requires groomed skills for the right software. Some were learned in college and the final grooming was from youtube”, says Priyanshi on to develop the skill. Giving a piece of advice to all other who wish to be self-employed she said, “to be successful one should know how and when to use the resources you’ve got.”
