World’s highest EV charging stations in Ladakh

Ladakh has attracted a major tourist footfall through its stunning scenery, scenic routes, and ecotourism.  Good news for electric vehicle drivers is that they can tour easily on its high-altitude roads because a network of EV charging stations has been installed along the Manali-Leh route, which includes five of some of the highest drivable passes in the world.

Shuchi Anant Virya, the joint venture company between Lithium Urban Technologies and Fourth Partner Energy has set up of a network of electric vehicle charging points along the Manali-Leh route in the Ladakh region which has opened doors for EV connectivity along the route.

As per reports, the Manali- Leh Ladakh route now has 18 electronic charging stations, and out of the 18 charging stations, 15 have been set up at 10000 ft to 14000 ft above the sea level.

Due to increase in tourist footfall in Ladakh, air pollution has also increased which is causing damage to the environment. Thus, a need for sustainable energy has emerged, thus, switching to the electric vehicle will help reduce pollution levels, these charging stations will prove to be fruitful not only for the travelers, but also for the region. As per the reports, the charging stations in Ladakh will cater to two, three, and four-wheeler vehicles.

The charging stations have been installed at key locations where travelers can charge their electric vehicles. By this step, the company aims to ensure to convert at least 50% of the vehicular traffic to EVs in the next 4 years.
