The Jammu and Kashmir administration on Tuesday issued an order regarding the deployment of teachers in other government departments to provide their services for non-teaching assignments.
An order issued by Principal Secretary to government BK Singh explained that it has come to fore that teaching staff of the School Education Department has been deputed for essential duties in containment and management of Covid- 19 outbreak, election-related work.
The SED has been asked to deploy teachers for election-related work for the proper functioning of the work. Principal Secretary to government for SED B K Singh in a circular said that the department has accepted the requests but has ordered the concerned heads not to depute its teaching staff for more than three months.
SED has stressed upon all the HoDs and Chief Education Officers (CEOs) to stick to all the guidelines while deputing the teaching staff to other departments for doing essential duties
“In case of deputation of teaching staff, proposal shall be submitted to the Administrative Department strictly in terms of Article 52 of the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services Regulations, 1956, amended from time to time,” Singh said.
“All the teaching staff of the School Education Department who have been deployed or deputed to other departments shall join back in their original place of posting,” Singh said.
“The Department of Disaster Management, Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction vide Government Order No.91 – JK (DMRRR) of 2021 dated 28.12.2021, issued guidelines for deployment of School Education Department staff below the rank of Lecturer to perform Covid duties,” the order said.
The guidelines include that the deployment shall be for a period of three months only, not more than one staff member from a single School shall be deployed. Deployment shall be of non-repetitive staff members.
