Srinagar :- In a significant victory for security forces, top Hizb-ul-Mujahideen commander Farooq Nali was killed along with four other terrorists in a fierce gunfight in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Thursday.
A senior police official confirmed that Nali, a highly wanted militant and one of the longest-surviving insurgents in the Kashmir Valley, was eliminated in the encounter with police and security forces.
Nali was implicated in numerous terror-related incidents, including attacks on both civilians and security personnel. His death is considered a major achievement for the police and security forces in their ongoing counter-terrorism operations. Earlier, during the intense exchange of fire, five militants were neutralized, and two army soldiers sustained injuries.
