2 Bihar residents arrested by Police in Samba blind murder case

Samba Police has solved a blind murder case registered at Police Station Bari Brahmana and arrested 2 accused from Bihar. The weapon of offence has been recovered and the vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized, Police said.

On 01.11.2024, the night of Diwali, a stabbing incident in the industrial area was reported at Police Station Bari Brahmana. Acting swiftly, police team reached the spot and found that a person identified as Sushil Singh Manhas S/o Dhyan Singh Age 29 years, R/o Smailpur, Tehsil Bari Brahmana had been stabbed by some unknown persons who fled away from the spot after the commission of crime. The injured was taken to GMC Jammu where he was declared ‘brought dead’ by the doctors, Police said.

Accordingly, a case FIR No. 149/2024 under Section 103(1) BNS was registered at Police Station Bari Brahmana and investigation was taken up.

During the course of investigation, a police team headed by SHO PS Bari Brahmana under the supervision of SDPO Bari Brahmana and under the overall supervision of SSP Samba after continuous strenuous efforts, identified & arrested a suspect namely Jalil Nutt S/o Aas Mohd R/o Mahaicha District Gopalganj, Bihar, Age about 25 years from the state of Bihar.

Upon sustained questioning, the said accused revealed the name of one more accused in the instant case. The co-accused has been identified as Mohd Azad, S/o Mohd Vashir, R/o Mejar Ganj Mohali Mandal, District Sitamarhi, Bihar, Age 20 years and was arrested from the state of Gujarat by the police.

During interrogation, both the accused namely Jalil Nutt and Mohd Azad confessed their involvement in the said case. They further revealed that there had been a scuffle regarding the victim’s request for a lift on a scooty bearing registration No. JK02BM 7356. In order to seek revenge, they stabbed the victim, resulting in his death.

On the disclosure of the accused Mohd Azad, the weapon of offence, a Chinese-made secessior, was recovered. Moreover, the vehicle bearing registration number JK02BM 7356 (scooty) used in the commission of the crime was also recovered and seized in the instant case, Police added.

Further investigation in the case is going on.
