Will schools in Jammu remain closed even on September 3?

While the administration of Jammu and Kashmir did not take any risk and ordered closure of the schools and other educational institutions due to possibility of heavy rains on September 2 (Tuesday), there is forecast of rains even on Wednesday (September 3).

After the tragedies of Kishtwar on August 14 and Vaishno Devi track on August 26 where many pilgrims were killed due to weather related incidents, the administration of J&K was taking all precautions to avoid any untoward incident. For this, schools were shut soon after the Meteorological Department issued advisories regarding the inclement weather conditions.

The schools remained closed for entire last week as there was possibility of heavy rains, cloudbursts and landslides during the period as forecasted by the MeT department.

However, the department has also predicted rainfall on Wednesday due to which many parents are concerned whether the administration will announce holiday in schools. However an official order in this connection is likely during the day.
