Jammu Division operates special trains from time to time for the convenient travel of passengers. This allows the railways to provide better facilities to passengers and facilitate their journey during periods of heavy rush and crowd management. Considering the heavy rush and the New Year celebrations, the railway has decided to run a special reserved train number 04081/04082 between New Delhi and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra from December 27, 2025 to January 1, 2026.

Special Reserved Train No. 04081 New Delhi to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra from 27.12.25 to 31.12.25 (05 trips)

This special reserved train will depart from New Delhi at 11:45 PM on its first day, December 27, and will reach Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra at 12:00 PM the next day. ​​En route, this train will stop at Panipat, Kurukshetra, Ambala Cantt, Ludhiana, Jalandhar Cantt, Pathankot Cantt, Jammu, and Shaheed Captain Tushar Mahajan (Udhampur) railway stations.

Special Reserved Train No. 04082 Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra to New Delhi from 28.12.25 to 01.01.26 (05 trips)

This special reserved train will depart from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra at 9:20 PM on its first day, December 28, and will reach New Delhi at 10:00 AM the next day. En route, this train will stop at Shaheed Captain Tushar Mahajan (Udhampur), Jammu, Pathankot Cantt, Jalandhar Cantt, Ludhiana, Ambala Cantt, Kurukshetra, and Panipat railway stations.

Regarding the special trains running periodically in the Jammu division, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Uchit Singhal, stated, “This reserved special train has been introduced to cater to the increasing number of tourists in Jammu and Kashmir and to meet the travel needs of local residents during the holiday season. This will make it easier for them to connect with their families and friends to celebrate the New Year and will also help in managing the rush during the New Year period. The reserved special train will operate with 16 coaches. Passengers can book tickets through the official Indian Railways website/app or authorized agents. Passengers are requested to obtain accurate information about the train timings before commencing their journey.”
