A gunfight has begun between the security forces and Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terrorists in the Chatroo area of Kishtwar, officials said on Sunday.
At lleast three Pakistani terrorists who had twice earlier managed to escape the cordon of security forces are believed trapped.
The WWhite Knight Corps of the Indian Army that is leading the counter-terror operation, wrote on X “Troops of #WhiteKnightCorps, alongwith @JmuKmrPolice and #CRPF, in a joint operation, established contact with terrorists in the general area of Passerkut, #Kishtwar. Firefight is on. Troops have cordoned off the area. Operation continues..”
