Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC) of the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), Kargil, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, signed the Condolence Book today at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in New Delhi. Dr. Akhoon expressed his deepest condolences to the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Dr. Mohammad Fathali, honoring the life and legacy of the Shaheed Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Syed Ali Khamenei.
Standing on behalf of the people of Ladakh, and particularly the people of Kargil, Dr. Akhoon expressed a profound sense of loss, describing the Shaheed leader as a “towering pillar of the Muslim Ummah” and a relentless “shield of the oppressed.”
During the solemn ceremony, the Chairman inscribed a heartfelt message reflecting the collective grief of the region:
“With hearts heavy and eyes filled with tears, on behalf of the people of Ladakh, particularly Kargil, we bow our heads in profound sorrow at the martyrdom of the great spiritual leader, Ayatollah Syed Ali Khamenei. He was a voice that never bowed before tyrants, and his passing leaves a void that words cannot fill and time cannot heal.”
Dr. Akhoon further emphasised that the people of Kargil stand united with the Millat-e-Iran and followers across every corner of this earth in this moment of immeasurable loss. The tribute concluded with a prayer for the departed leader’s soul, asking Almighty Allah to elevate his rank among the righteous and grant him the highest station in Paradise.
Following the signing, CEC Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon was joined by the Member of Parliament (MP) UT Ladakh, Haji Hanifa Jan, to meet with the representative of Iran’s Supreme Leader in India, Dr. Abdul Majeed Hakim Elahi, and the Cultural Counselor and Head of the Iran Culture House, New Delhi, Dr. Faridoddin Faridasr.
In a profound expression of shared sorrow, the CEC and the MP conveyed the heartfelt condolences of the people of Ladakh and stood in firm solidarity with people of Iran and millions of followers worldwide, affirming that the Shaheed’s life remains a guiding light for justice and truth, even in this time of great loss
