DLL holds workshop on AI, software tools in JU

A five-day workshop on “Artificial Intelligence and Software Tools” was inaugurated today at the Department of Lifelong Learning (DLL), University of Jammu. The workshop is being organised by the Counselling Unit of DLL, Employment Information Cum Advisory Bureau (EIAB), with the objective of enhancing participants’ knowledge and practical proficiency in Artificial Intelligence, emerging AI tools, software applications, online resources and digital learning technologies.

The workshop was inaugurated by Prof. Priyanka Sharma, Director, Department of Lifelong Learning. In her inaugural address, she emphasised the growing importance of Artificial Intelligence and remarked that “AI is the need of the hour.” She highlighted the need for students and scholars to develop digital competencies and keep pace with rapidly emerging technological advancements.

Abhigya Mahajan, Assistant Professor, School of Computer Science and Engineering, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Katra, was the resource person for the first day of the workshop. He delivered an informative session on Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Deep Learning, besides introducing participants to various AI tools and their applications.

The workshop was coordinated by Dr. Rewa Khajuria, Counsellor, EIAB, DLL. Students and scholars from the Department of Lifelong Learning, Department of Strategic and Regional Studies (DSRS), and language departments, including Punjabi and Urdu, participated enthusiastically in the programme.

The five-day workshop is designed to provide participants with practical exposure to AI tools and software applications that can support their academic, research and professional pursuits.
