DIG reviews security arrangements in Reasi for Buda Amarnath yatra

Shiv Kumar Sharma, DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range, conducted a comprehensive review of security arrangements today in district Reasi in view of the Shri Buda Amarnath Ji Yatra-2026.

During the visit, the DIG inspected the security arrangements at Sungal Tunnel, Kalidhar, Bambla and Sudeen areas and assessed the overall security preparedness and deployment in these strategically important locations.

The DIG was accompanied by Addl. SP Reasi, SHO Police Station Pouni, IC PP Bambla and officers and personnel of Police and CAPF from Sunderbani.

During his visit, the DIG interacted with the deployed officers and reviewed the existing security measures, deployment plans, surveillance and operational preparedness. He directed the officers to maintain a high level of alertness and vigilance, ensure effective area domination and strengthen coordination among all security agencies to meet any emerging security challenge and facilitate the safe and peaceful conduct of the Shri Buda Amarnath Ji Yatra.

The DIG also interacted with Swami Vishavatma Nand Saraswati Ji of Sunderbani Ashram and sought his cooperation and support in ensuring a peaceful and orderly pilgrimage.

Later, a public meeting was held at Bambla, wherein the DIG interacted with local residents and listened to their concerns. He emphasized the importance of sustained police-public engagement, timely sharing of information and collective efforts towards maintaining peace, security and harmony in the area.

He assured the gathering of continued police support and reiterated that close coordination with the local community remains vital for ensuring a safe and secure environment during the yatra.
