Wanted for attacking cops, bovine smuggler finally lands in Police net

Jammu Police achieved a significant breakthrough by arresting a notorious absconder involved in a violent attack on a police party during official duty. The accused, Murad Ali @ Fajji, son of Abdul Ganie, resident of Marallian Dakbanglow, had been evading arrest for several months.

The accused was wanted in connection with FIR No. 53/2026 registered at Police Station Miran Sahib under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, and the Arms Act.

The case pertains to an incident in April 2026, when the accused, along with his associates, allegedly attacked a police team carrying out lawful duties, leaving two police personnel injured. Since then, he had been absconding and deliberately avoiding legal proceedings.

Acting on credible intelligence, a dedicated team of Police Station Miran Sahib, led by Inspector Jatinder Singh, SHO, with PSI Rohit Kumar and accompanying police personnel, conducted sustained efforts and successfully apprehended the accused, Police stated.

Murad Ali @ Fajji is also a notorious bovine smuggler with a long criminal record. More than eight FIRs have been registered against him in various criminal cases, highlighting his repeated involvement in unlawful activities, Police claimed.

Further investigation is underway to ascertain his role in the present case and other criminal activities. Jammu Police remains committed to taking strict action against habitual offenders, bovine smugglers, and those involved in attacks on police personnel, ensuring that all absconders are brought to justice.
