In a historic initiative to further strengthen its operations and passenger services, Jammu Division has taken a significant step. Under the guidance of the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Jammu, Vivek Kumar, a three-member committee was constituted comprising Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Uchit Singhal, Senior Divisional Operating Manager, Aarish Bansal, and Senior Personnel Officer, Seema V Verma. The selection process was completed by the committee, and 24 retired personnel from the Commercial and Operating departments were selected. As a result, this scheme has been fully successful, officials said.

This is the first time in the history of the Division that such a large number of retired employees have been brought back into service under the re-engagement scheme. Under this special initiative, about 19 retired employees have taken charge in the Commercial Department and 6 retired employees in the Operating Department on important posts.

This is the first time since the formation of Jammu Division in the year 2025 that such a large number of experienced former railway personnel have been re-engaged in the Commercial Department.

This re-engagement is providing several major benefits to the Division. Firstly, with the induction of 19 experienced employees in the Commercial Department, important services like ticketing, reservation and passenger grievance redressal have seen significant improvement in speed and efficiency. Along with this, during the upcoming festive season, their experience is proving to be of special help in controlling and managing the heavy rush at stations.

On the other hand, due to the 6 experienced personnel appointed in the Operating Department, safe and punctual operation of trains, shunting process and station management are being conducted more smoothly. These senior personnel have decades of practical experience in railway service, which is also serving as excellent mentorship for the young railway employees currently working.

Jammu Division heartily welcomes the valuable contribution of its experienced former employees and is fully committed to providing safe, secure, punctual train operations and excellent passenger services of Indian Railways.
