One of the world’s highest railway bridge that is coming up in Jammu’s Reasi district has also garnered the attention of Union Minister for Railways Piyush Goyal.
The bridge over Chenab river has already gained much traction from different quarters. Piyush Goyal on Thursday tweeted “Indian Railways is well on track to achieve another engineering milestone with the steel arch of Chenab bridge reaching at closure position. It is all set to be the world’s highest Railway bridge”.
The bridge has a 476 meter long arch which will be the world’s highest railway bridge in Jammu.
The arch bridge is a part of an ambitious railway project connecting Jammu and Kashmir to the rest of the country. The bridge will cost nearly Rs 1250 crore and is 360 meters above the Chenab river amid mountains.
