Lashkar-e-Taiba threatens J&K BJP Chief Ravinder Raina to leave UT

J&K BJP President Ravinder Raina has claimed that a Pakistani terrorist belonging to Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) has threatened to murder him.

Ravinder Raina said that he told Director General of Jammu and Kashmir Police Dilbag Singh of this issue. The police, according to Raina, have however assured Raina that they will carry a proper investigation in this matter. According to Raina, he received a call from a Pakistani mobile number +92 3450288057 around 5.30 pm yesterday and the person who called introduced himself as a commander of LeT.

Raina said that he was warned to leave Jammu and Kashmir and was also sent a video on WhatsApp. This video is three-and-a-half-minute long and a masked man equipped with an AK assault rifle, a pistol and four grenades can be seen talking.

The masked man says that Raina is consistently talking about liberating Azad Kashmir (Pakistan-occupied Kashmir) and building a temple there. He is “spewing venom against Pakistan and Jihad” (holy war) the caller said. He threatened Raina that his tongue will be cut and hanged in Jammu city centre. Masked man says that this is the last warning for Raina and if he continues to do same then he will be killed soon.

Man in video says that they will avenge the revocation of Articles 370 and 35A of the Constitution by the Central government. Raina said that he is not going to be silenced by such threats.

Raina said that he has taken an oath to uproot terrorism from Jammu and Kashmir so that people can live peacefully. “Kashmiri people have been greatly affected by Pakistan-sponsored violence for the past three decades and I have resolved to provide them with a peaceful atmosphere” said Raina to a media house.
