In the country of Big Boss, every fight ranging from two dogs of opposite colours on the roadside to two “celebrities” screaming over each-other on a reality show is celebrated by people. Citizens of this holy nation had their another share of celebration as a “war” broke out between Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut and Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh on Twitter. People were cheering for their favourite contestant even after the ceasefire was called.
The latest duel has roots in an earlier tweet by Kangana in which she mistook an old lady in the ongoing farmer protests(Mahinder Kaur) for Bilkis Bano who was a part of the Shaheen Bagh protest. Kangana alleged that the old lady charges Rs 100 for taking part in protests. A controversy followed and the Bollywood actress had to delete her tweet.
Diljit shared a video featuring the old lady from farmers protest and tagged Kangana on Twitter. Replying to Diljit, Kangana called him a pet of Karan Johar. She said that Shaheen Bagh fame Bilkis Bano was seen protesting along with the farmers. She doesn’t even know Mahinder Kaur.
In a reply to her own tweet, Kangana called herself a lioness and threatened to blacken faces of those “vultures” who are inciting the innocents. After Kangana’s tweet, Diljit replied her which was followed by Kangana’s reply and a cycle was formed.
Another singer Mika Singh also criticized Kangana after the verbal duel. He demanded that she should apologise from the old lady.
Author Ravinder Singh made a video while dancing in support of Diljit.
Journalist Sushant Sinha tweeted in support of the actress.
