The Assistant Commissioner Development of Doda, Phulail Singh has cracked the whip against erring Panchayat secretaries for delaying the payments of MNREGA.
As per a press statement by J&K government “timely payment is one of the key indicator to ensure proper implementation of the MGNREGA program in the UT as well as in the district which is being monitored by the higher authorities regularly and even after the repeated warnings 24 panchayat secretaries have failed to improve the performance in their respective panchayats under timely payment indicator”.
BDOs of the respective areas have been asked not to issue the salaries of the erring secretaries.
BDOs have also been asked to start proceedings against the second signatories with dismal performance due to negligence.
