Srinagar, January 26, 2025 – Anil Paba, a distinguished social activist, writer, and freelance archaeologist, has been conferred with the highest J&K Government Award for 2025 in recognition of his exceptional contributions to arts and crafts on Republic Day. A native of the region, Paba has dedicated 35 years to meticulously preserving the art, culture, and heritage of Jammu and Kashmir.
His remarkable journey includes discovering numerous ancient sites and historical temples along ancient trade routes, actively working to protect the region’s water bodies, and establishing the private Amar Santosh Museum. This unique museum houses a comprehensive collection of artifacts spanning from the Stone Age to the Dogra Rulers, ensuring that future generations can explore and understand the rich cultural legacy of the region.
Paba’s tireless efforts in archaeological research and cultural preservation have not only documented the historical significance of Jammu and Kashmir but also created a lasting repository of the area’s historical treasures.
