An anti-encroachment drive was conducted by the Enforcement team of Jammu Municipal Corporation under the instructions of Commissioner, JMC, Avny Lavasa and under the close supervision of Assistant Commissioner (Revenue), JMC Sudhir Bali and Enforcement Officers of Jammu Municipal Corporation. The anti-encroachment drive was conducted in the areas of Rehari and Sarwal of Jammu City.
A number of complaints received from the two residents of the area that shopkeepers and residents of the area encroached the roads and lanes causing congestion in the area and creates hurdles in smooth flow of traffic and pedestrians. Jammu Municipal Corporation today removed encroachments from the roadside and lanes which includes illegal ramps, railings etc. A number of bye-lanes were also freed from encroachments and opened for general public.
Further, Jammu Municipal Corporation appeals to all its citizens particularly not to encroach upon main roads, footpaths, pavements as the same cause inconvenience to the general public and pedestrians and also create obstructions in the free movement of vehicular traffic.
